Camminiamo sull'acqua

Omelia sul Vangelo Gv 6,16-21

Gesù cammina sulle acque.

*Camminare sulle acque è una parabola della nostra vita di fede.

*La fede non è un talismano che garantisce tutto ciò che desideriamo nella nostra vita.

*La fede è affrontare la realtà, una realtà che è a rischio, sempre a rischio.

• Noi abbiamo una prospettiva ottimale della nostra vita e la conserviamo il più possibile immaginando che questa prospettiva ottimale e ideale sia per l'eternità, ma sappiamo che non è così.
• La fede ci sostiene, ci dà la forza per affrontare il rischio della vita oi rischi della vita; noi non siamo indenni da una lotta, da un combattimento, tuttavia se con fede ci affidiamo al Signore stiamo a galla, riusciamo ad affrontare anche il "rischio" e andare all'altra riva.
• L'altra riva, immagine della fine, della meta della nostra esistenza oltre la morte. Nella fede superiamo anche la morte.
• Noi camminiamo qui, anche rischiando con la fede, camminiamo verso la meta ulteriore, che è oltre la morte: la vita eterna.
• Qui, con la nostra vita, stiamo già costruendo l'eternità. Ma la meta è quella, non possiamo dimenticarlo.

*Gesù che cammina sull'acqua è figura della nostra esistenza in cammino verso la meta finale.

Homily on the Gospel Jn 6: 16-21

Jesus walks on the water.

* Walking on the water is a parable of our life of faith.

* Faith is not a talisman that guarantees everything we want in our life.

* Faith is facing reality, a reality that is at risk, always at risk.

• We have an optimal perspective of our life and we keep it as much as possible by imagining that this optimal and ideal perspective is for eternity, but we know that it is not.
• Faith sustains us, gives us the strength to face the risk of life or the risks of life; we are not free from a fight, from a fight, however if we entrust ourselves to the Lord with faith we are afloat, we can also face the "risk" and go to the other shore.
• The other shore, image of the end, of the goal of our existence beyond death. In faith we overcome even death.
• We walk here, even taking risks with faith, we walk towards the further goal, which is beyond death: eternal life.
• Here, with our life, we are already building eternity. But that is the goal, we cannot forget it.

* Jesus walking on water is a figure of our existence on the way to the final goal.
