In questi giorni ci sono in corso le celebrazioni per gli ottant'anno dal D-Day Una data che ha segnato il primo giorno di una grande e precisissima operazione militare di terra, navale e aerea che ha dato il via alla campagna di liberazione dell'Europa nord-occidentale dall'occupazione nazista. Pochi giorni fa è stato il trentacinquesimo anno dalle proteste di piazza Tienanmen. Insomma, date importanti che hanno dato una svolta alla storia e hanno dimostrato quanto la libertà, di pensiero, di espressione siano beni primari necessari a ogni essere umano di qualsiasi Paese. Purtroppo ancor oggi di questi beni non tutti possono goderne, speriamo nel futuro.
Intanto in questo fine di settimana circa 373 milioni di persone, di queste 22 milioni al loro primo voto, sono chiamate a esprimere liberamente e democraticamente il loro voto per rinnovare il Parlamento europeo: 76 membri. I 27 Paesi sono in ordine alfabetico: Austria, Belgio, Bulgaria, Cipro, Croazia, Danimarca, Estonia, Finlandia, Francia, Germania, Grecia, Irlanda, Italia, Lettonia, Lituania, Lussemburgo, Malta, Paesi Bassi, Polonia, Portogallo, Repubblica Ceca, Romania, Slovacchia, Slovenia, Spagna, Svezia, Ungheria, fino al 2020 c'era anche il Regno Unito.
